This award-winning photojournalist, commercial, editorial, music, and advertising photographer is known for his stylized environmental portraits and balancing his artistic vision with a solid knowledge of the craft.
Carlos is an expert at one of the most challenging areas of photography, manipulating light. He consistently finds creative and appropriate multimedia visuals to complement his clients' photojournalism, video, editorial, and marketing needs.
Born and raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico, Carlos earned his undergraduate degree from the Evergreen State College, where photographers-in-training must master the technical nuances of photography before exploring the creative aspects of an image. He studied documentary film concentrating in environmental portraiture and photojournalism.
Carlos also earned a Master of Communication in Digital Media from the University of Washington.
He also traveled extensively photographing over 47 states, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Carlos has and put his technical, artistic, and photojournalism skills to work on projects for The New York Times, The Houston Chronicle, The Washington Post, Bloomberg News, Time, Texas Monthly, NASA, and has been a contract managing photo editor and video producer for msn.com, The University of Washington School of Oceanography, and Zachry Corporation among others.
His work appears regularly in magazines, newspapers, and online publications across the globe.
Carlos is currently available for assignments throughout the United States and abroad.
